Tianfu Greenway, 100 km ✅ — from the first excitement, through gritted teeth, to slowly going numb inside the turning of the pedals.
I set off on the afternoon of National Day and rode one full loop of the ring greenway. The watch recorded 100.44 km, from 13:34 to 20:10 — six and a half hours, 586 m of climbing.

The first twenty kilometres were pure sightseeing. The asphalt was new, the flags ran all the way to the end of the view, and the wind kept them full. The middle section was the hardest: the sun still high, the legs starting to ache, my head stuck on “are we halfway yet”. Then it went quiet, and there was only the chain and the pedals going round.

By the last twenty kilometres I had stopped thinking much. Not giving up — the body simply took over and pedalled like a machine. Numbness counts as arriving. It is not romantic, but it did carry me back to the start.
Looking back, the interesting part is that excitement, endurance, and numbness each took about a third of the ride, and none of the three was spare.
Life needs less overthinking. Do more. Feel more.
